The race to the start of the race on SunGard Front Arena

We decided to enter the Cherbourg double handed race from the solent to France on SunGard front Arena knowing it would be tough to make it in time to the start...

I left the office at five and caught a train to Southampton while Paul was going to leave portsmouth on the boat and pick me up at hamble point marina... The closest point on land to the start line a couple of miles out.

That was the plan but Paul was delayed by needing to replace a part on the engine which was a drama in itself, the only shop which had the part was in Norwich but luckily we diverted a friend who was driving souuth and collected the part... Thanks jerry a million.

I made it to hamble point in time but Paul is to far back on his schedule to make it here and to the start

So I'm now waiting for a rib that pip managed to find last minute to take me to the start area and jump on the boat hopefully seconds before the gun which is in just an hour!!!

I really hope we'll make it and push SunGard Front Arena to France at full speed...

I'll let you know how we got on
