Nannini takes 4th place in first Solo race around Isle of Wight

In his first ever solo Race on the newly acquired Class 40 Marco Nannini finished in 4th place (out of 25) within few hundred yards of the top boat.
"I am extremely pleased with the result, it was my first time out alone on the boat and sure I made lots of mistakes, short tacking inshore was really hard work and the race helped me getting the hang of how to do things solo on such a powerful boat... I was leading the race just past the Needles, I couldnt believe it, it was the first time I led a race outright... there I got my tactics wrong and went to far offshore to look for the fresher breeze instead of avoiding the tide inshore, that's what the others did and it paid off for them... i lost several places this way and pushed till i almost caught up with the leading trio, i almost had them! But that's racing... you never know " commented Marco.
