After the Round Britain and Ireland it’s your turn!
The Shetland Round Britain and Ireland has been a fantastic experience, we sailed hard and learnt a lot about the boat, the competition was very stiff in a thrilling race right up to the finish line.
I wish to thank all those that sent messages of support during the race; it really made a difference to us through the highs and lows of ocean racing. Now it's time to turn the page and work towards the future, which will include the Route du Rhum at the end of October and ultimately the Global Ocean Race 2011-2012.
If you would like the experience of sailing on a Class 40 and support the campaign, we are putting together a calendar of days out on the Akilaria named SunGard Front Arena during the Round Britain and Ireland race and which led the fleet to Castle bay in Barra, was first Class 40 into Lerwick, took line honours into Lowestoft following the storm in the North Sea and was first overall up to the last few miles of race, where the we were shockingly pipped to the finish line in Plymouth by the Norwegian Team on Solo in windless drifting conditions, can’t beat a Viking at rowing!
The boat is fully equipped for corporate days and meets all safety requirements set by the MCA code of practice. We will skipper the boat for you and can accommodate up to 8 guests. The boat is based in Haslar Marina next to Hugo Boss with immediate access to the Solent. We’ll provide all you’ll need for the day, from life jackets to foul weather gear, drinks and lunch.
Whether you want to arrange a corporate day, a team building experience or simly want to put together a party of friends for a special day out give us a call to discuss.
Cowes Week: we have a few days left in the early part of Cowes Week with a berth at Shepard’s Wharf.
